Illusions...

We all live in the world of Illusions.
A world created by us, by our own beliefs, by our own thoughts. And we believe we are the creator of our destiny, our future. We think we can control everything.

Me...., I was of the same belief, njoying every moment. Feeling proud that I took decisions of my life created my own destiny. Made choice from given options and the right choice. I thought that this is how life goes, that we have the choice and everything happens for some reason and ultimately for good.

But, one fine day my belief system was completely shaken. I realized, there is something we never thought of, we never imagine and we dont have control over. The ultimate truth, DEATH.
I lost a very close and dear friend, she died for no mistake of her, for no reason. And suddenly all plans made by her, her husband, her parents....everything was gone for toss in a fraction of second. And she...she had no choice....

My practical thought process could not accept or find any reason why it should have happened to her. Before this I thought that fate is the matter of probability. But her death's probability was 1/1000000000000....0000. How can one justify such probability?

Me n my belief system are completely shaken from inside.... I have tried hard to come in terms with the situation. But her pretty face, her effervescent smile comes in front of me and I am forced to think, why?????? why her....

But now having seen death so closely I can say, we live in world of illusions, with very few things in our control. So just live in present, "live in this moment".

Offcourse you try and make ur future as  secure as possible, you try and plan it as much as possible. But in that process dont forget to live in present. As "this" is the only moment we have control over.

Life is too short to hate or crib about something or someone. Love urself and ppl around you. Live life every day....

They say pain is must as thats how you learn and understand importance of things. I could not agree more....

Kites in the sky....

Hey,
As obvious as is the title. Its the review of the movie Kites.

Why did I feel the need to write the review because everybody else is cursing, blaming the movie. Media is mocking at Hrirtik's acting too. I was like, Wats wrong!!! I am sure it is more of a Viral effect...

Yes, I dont feel I am different because I liked the movie. The movie is not super-fantastic but its not bad too....

Kites HAS a story
It has a REALISTIC end (unlike typical bollywood love stories)
Hritik and Babara acted really well, they look super cute and lovely. At no point in the movie I felt the acting is not good (Forget Kangana Ranaut and rest fo the cast I am just not talking about them). The last scene acting of Hritik was just mind blowing.......
The stunts and chase sequence were a bit unrealistic but if we accept and agree with similar hollywood shit why not the bollywood one?? Atleast they were neat. At that point one may feel that the movie is dragging.

I liked the editing, the story-telling, the transition between past-present.

They did a superb job of conveying a love story between two people who dont know each other's language. It was all said by their expressions (offcourse ans sub-titles were necessary at times).

Music is good. Some people blamed the background score too!!!!!!!!

I believe high expectation set by Hritik himself for the movie worked against him. I think people were expecting a bit too much all the time and forgot to njoy the movie.

I liked the movie. I found it to be simple love story. A few action sequences could have been avoided. Rest of the star cast didnt act well. But I was not in mood to pay attention to them :D. The movie could have been shorter though.
(* No, I dont have any soft corner for Hritik!! *)

My rating - 3.5/5

P.S. : These are strictly My views about the movie :)

Harishchandrachi Factory - a milestone in marathi film industry

I have spent my entire childhood being the Doordarshan person. Hence I saw many Marathi movies on Sundays. Most of them were the "typical" Ashok Saraf and Lakshimikant Berde's comedy. After few years other actors like Mahesh Kothare added the "Damn It" dialogues in it ;). The movies were either non-sense comedy else intense drama (How can we forget Alka Kubal's Maherchi Sadi!). The Marathi movie industry must have seen its "not-so-good" period then.
One must not forget about classy movies like "Pinjra" which showcased the potential Marathi movie industry had which was left unused.
As a kid I enjoyed and watched all these movie but could not take the repetitive loud over-acting eventually. And when I used to see the marathi movies board with stupid names like "Dhangad Dhinga" I was like, "ye movie kaun dekhta hai bhai!!"

But today I see major transformation in Marathi film industry with wonderful movies like Harischandrachi factory,  Rita, Samantar, Natrang etc. raising the bar and the standard.

Among all of them I liked "Harishchandrachi Factory" the most! Awesome is the word for this movie!

Gosh, I utterly butterly loved the story telling part of the movie. Its a simple story so well said.
The struggle in his life and the sacrifices done by his wife are shown with such positive attitude. Their attitude towards life teaches us soo much. Also the direction is very good. Acting, no doubt, each and every character, may it be Phalke himself or the character who was Shiv in his movie, all were so much in character. Its clearly a milestone in Marathi cinema.

I am so happy Marathi cinema is out of loud and not so funny movies.

LSD

It took me quite a while to write the review of LSD, bcoz its a difficult movie to rate...

While watching the movie I was quite disturbed by the offensive scenes and dialogues and hence I will say could not enjoy the movie or appreciate the movie the moment I came out of theater. This movie is NOT to be watched with opposite gender person unless its your boyfriend/husband. Otherwise you will be in very difficult situation.

The movie is actually 3 stories based on "Love" "Sex" and "Dhoka".
This movie has a fresh approach in the way its shot. That gives it the "reality TV" feel which as we know has mass appeal. So hats of to director for the same. Also, though the 3 stories are completely independent they are subtly linked together very well. And every time we see the link, we feel "oh shit" because we already what had happened to the characters. It gives us the goose bumps. You MUST watch the movie to experience the feeling.

It take us time to realize that the movie has started. The start, the title of stories and one of the story is shot in a B grade movie style. It takes courage to show a B grade movie in an A grade movie. Again hats off to the director for that!

The entire cast is new, and hence there is no "starry" feel to the movie, which makes it more real and acceptable. But I must say, each character has done complete justice to their role. At any point in movie I did not feel as if I am watching an entire new cast. They all were very natural. The director took care of very small and subtle points and characteristics of all characters.

Over n all a good movie, rather I will say a different movie with novel story-telling approach.
WARNING: Girls, you might feel offended by the dialogues and scenes so be prepared for it.

My Rating: 4/5

Strange are the ways of MIND!

My mind is behaving very crazy recently. I have become real lazy and so very non-social person these days.
After going home, I just sleep lethargically on the sofa and keep watching non-sense TV soaps back to back. Do not feel like calling my near and dear ones, do not feel like going out much, do not feel like blogging....

I know this is not me. With this stupid behavior I had been irritating myself. But now the irritation has reached its peak and I need to get out of this state of mind before getting trapped in it.

So here I am in process of getting back to normal, writing blog :D. In this long period when I didnt blog there were many things I felt like blogging about:
1. The awesome movie, Harishchandrachi Factory.
2. My one of the moth pathetic and unforgettable journey to Amravti.
3. People shedding inhibitions...
etc etc.

Will soon express my opinion and share m experiences. For now I am consciously working on myself :)

Sultry Days

Higly impressed with the way the woman speaks, carries herself and her short articles and criticisms in the news paper, Sobha De was able to catch all my due attention. I could not wait to explore more of her writing, as girls always look upto some strong, confident and smart lady. She is a perfect example of how a lady is all capable of taking care of her family as well as her own career and social circle and what not. So I was all excited to read her work, her books, but was highly disappointed!

The 1st book I read was "Strange Obsession". This book was OK.

So I though of reading the second one "Sultry Days" and I think from now on I will think 10 times before I decide to buy and read any of her books.
So many characters, so many short stories... It takes the story away from the main characters Nasha and Deb and we have to take conscious efforts to keep track of all the characters and then it becomes a mess... It seemed to me as a collection of so many short stories and characters that Mrs.De must be coming across her high class social circle. I found nothing Sultry about the story or the days...

I got so frustrated that after reading more than half of the book, I went directly to last chapter (something I never do) to realize that the rest of the story also had nothing to offer me about Nasha and Deb and I was happy I didnt read the rest of the crap.

It was a small story, which needed filler of so many stupid characters to complete and publish the book :D. Also the title is so very misleading. So a strict no-no to read this book guys.
